Ronald S. Weiss, M.D.


Dr. Ronald S. Weiss is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and founder of Chicago Eye Consultants. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataracts, diabetic eye care, glaucoma and other medical and surgical eye disorders. His expertise is cataract surgery.  As one of the busiest cataract surgeons in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Weiss performs complicated cataract surgeries, often referred by other ophthalmologists, and incorporates the latest technology and premium implants on qualified candidates.   


Dr. Weiss received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Northwestern University with his medical degree. He completed his residency at the University of Chicago and is a proud member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has an academic appointment at Rush University Medical School where he teaches and performs surgery with the Ophthalmology Residents.  Dr. Weiss is also Chairman of Ophthalmology at MacNeal Hospital.  Dr. Weiss had been in private practice for 15 years before founding Chicago Eye Consultants in 2006.

Alyssa Berry, OD


Dr. Berry is a licensed optometrist and her services include the treatment and management of ocular disease including age related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and dry eye among others. She has an additional level of service by providing glasses and contact lens fittings, pediatric eye exams, and urgent care needs including red eyes and eye infections.

Dr. Berry received her Doctorate from Indiana University School of Optometry and completed undergraduate studies at Indiana University where she was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and the Gold Key Honor Society. Dr. Berry is also an active member of the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA), as well as the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). VOSH has allowed her to take two service trips to Frome, Jamaica in order to provide comprehensive eye care as well as surgical post-operative care to underserved populations.

Saba Quraishi, MD

QuraishiPhoto.pngDr. Quraishi is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataracts, intraocular lenses, blepharoplasty, as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Her area of expertise is cataract surgery.

Dr. Quraishi graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Program at Loyola University prior to matriculation at Northwestern University, where she obtained her Doctorate of Medicine. She completed post graduate medical education, internal medicine and ophthalmology residency training at Louis Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Henry Ford Health systems respectively.

Wendewessen Amde, M.D.

Wendewessen Amde, M.DDr. Amde specializes in the management of medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous and retina. His expertise includes the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, simple and complex retinal detachment repair, surgical removal of epiretinal membranes, and the surgical management of complex trauma cases. Dr. Amde also takes special interest in the diagnosis and medical and surgical management of eye inflammations and uveitis.

Dr. Amde is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, The New York State Ophthalmological Society, and the American Medical Association. He completed his undergraduate education at the UCLA School of Medicine where he graduated with distinction as AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor) Society. He then continued to complete his residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and his fellowship at the world renowned Kresge Eye Institute. Dr. Amde is board certified by the American board of Ophthalmology (through 2021).
